Razor Blades….

When I first saw the Oakley Razorblades my mind was blown away.  It was the era of Bo Jackson, Brian Bosworth, Mark Occhilupo, Mike Stewart, Tom Curren, etc…if you know or knew all of those cats….i’m impressed.  Today I was on hypebeast.com and pleasantly surprised to find this video.  It’s basically a look back at the history of Oakley since it’s inception years ago as a handlebar grip company to one of the biggest names EVER in eyewear.  I still remember the pair of Oakley grips i took off this kids bike back in like 1987….sorry Monty..but you stole my bike, but at least i got your Oakley grips!  Check the vid below and be sure to check out hypebeast.com and the folks at deathgrip.net who actually shot and produced this little treat.

When i first met Peter over at The Goodie Bag he impressed me as a young dude with serious drive.  Over the years, not only has he grown his business at an astonishing rate but he has made us better in the process.  Keep your eyes on our neighbors to the north at The Goodie Bag.   Currently rockin’ a cool promo with the dudes down in FLA Sketchy White Van and Dee & Ricky…peep the link and do what they tell ya! It’s good for you!

Happy Birthday Sesame Street

The word STREET means different things to different people.  But no matter what country you’re from, where you lived or where you hang….there’s one street we all know well….SESAME STREET.  These cats have been doing it for 41 years now!  It seems like just yesterday I was turning to Snuffaluffagus for advice and eating cereal!!  Sesame Street first aired on November 10th, 1969.  Keep your eye on the crew from SESAME STREET, they always know what time it is.  On this beautiful Friday, i’m gonna leave you with a clip of one of Cookie Monster’s classic performances.  ENJOY!

Get down or lay down….

We see the news that the economy is no longer the rising star she once was.  Many people, be them brands, shops, websites, etc…think “oh, we’ll just play it safe and weather the storm.”  Folks, that is not the answer.  It is a fact that more millionaires were made in The Great Depression than at any other time in US history.  This is the time to grow, it is the time to out wit thecompetition.   It is understandable that many people have the reaction to “just get by while offering less.”  However we must push ourselves to accomplish more with less.  In the classic film Shawshank Redemtion, inmate Andy Duphrane  tells his friend “time to get busy living, or get busy dying.”  It’s time to get down or lay down folks.

We’ll be highlighting those individuals or groups whom we feel are really trying to excel during this time as well as related articles on this subject.
